Words matter.
Maybe these days more than ever before.
They can build trust or decimate it.
Unite or divide, praise or deride.

They are the connective tissue of communication and the building blocks of ideas.
Used persuasively, they can weave a compelling brand narrative that inspires consumer awareness, adoption and action.

That's where I come in...

about me

Well, this is awkward.
Although I find it easy and exciting to write about people, places and things that don’t have my name on them, writing about myself is another matter altogether. Right now, it feels like an itchy blend of hubris and vulnerability that might generate a bad case of hives. But if you’ve made it this far, I suppose I should tell you something about myself.
Writing is something I’ve loved since childhood, second only to reading great stories. When I discovered that writing and storytelling were two things that came quite naturally to me, I was excited. When I learned that I could declare myself an English major and earn a college degree for doing more of it, I was thrilled. When I realized that I could make a living at it as a copywriter, I was damn near ecstatic.
Cut to a 20-plus year career that has allowed me to collaborate with exceptionally creative folks to use my words to captivate, cajole and catalyze human behavior. I’ve had the opportunity to work on some of the niftiest niche brands and the greatest of global brands. From healthcare to automotive to financial services and beyond, my copywriting experience spans time, space, channels and categories.

I'm a Scrabble nerd, am clumsy as hell, and have a soft spot for shelter dogs. The smiling guy you see to the right is Wyatt the Wonderpup — who came from a chaotic hoarding situation but now lives high on the hog with me.

Anyway, instead of nattering on and on about myself, I’d really like to learn something about you and see if we might work together. Drop me an email and let’s collaborate!
